I've recently been working in soft pastel alongside my usual encaustic. I am fascinated by the way each of the mediums shows a similar subject in different ways, light and texture being particularly important to me. My paintings continue to  explore how a painting can create a successful balance between what is shown and what is inferred. These  flowers continue to be a metaphorical representation of mood and emotion.
